ObituaryJul 16, 2000  OBITUARY: EUGENE J. DUDLEY, 71, Green Bay, passed away late Friday afternoon, July 14, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer, while surrounded by the love of his family at a local nursing home. Gene was born on December 17, 1928 in Wabeno to the late Ray and Hazel (Mattson) Dudley. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. Gene married the former Margery M. Hand on August 30, 1947 in Marion, Kan. and lived in Herington, Kan. for 13 years. The family moved to Green Bay in the mid-1950s. Gene worked at Northern Paper Mill as a printerman and retired from Fort James East in 1991. Gene is remembered by his family first and foremost for his great love for his family and also for his love of trout fishing.

Gene is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Margery; three children and one son-in-law, Francis G. Dudley and Michael R. Dudley, both of Green Bay; Terri and doug Nohr, Maribel; three grandchildren, Michael J. Dudley, Scott Dudley, Tammy (Ken) Remington, all of Green Bay; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alex Remington and Michael (Dudley) Kohn, all of Green Bay; two brothers and spouses, James (Catherine ) Dudley, Wabeno and Loyal “Tiny” (Jordes) Dudley, Woodruff; one brother-in-law and spouse, Tommy (Barbs) Hand, Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Leila Clough-Zadrazil, Marvel Vanderhoof and Irene Goodchild.

Friends may call at Malcore Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird Street, from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral. Funeral service will be Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Fewell officiating. Burial in Nicolet Memorial Garden.

Gene’s family extends a special thank you to Unity Hospice, especially Dar, Paula and Gene’s best friend, Pastor Steve.
