ObituaryJan 15, 2010  OBITUARY: VIRGINIA BEACH - Dennis A. Benjamin Sr., 80, passed away Jan. 14, 2010.

Mr. Benjamin was born in Nova Scotia, Canada and moved to the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area in 1947. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Virginia Benjamin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a long standing member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church and was employed with Farm Fresh and The Colonial Stores for many years.

Survivors include four children, Dennis A. Benjamin Jr. and wife Elaine, Eva M. Sauls and husband David, Marjorie C. Walker, Virginia L. Taylor and husband Joe, all of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Nicole Sprake, Bryce, Eric and Nathan Benjamin, Jody B. Sauls, Chad J. Benjamin and Mariah E. Walker; and nine great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home where a celebration of Mr. Benjamin's life will be held Monday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Robert F. Pittman III. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
