He had always been in the employ of the Parker and Young company since he began as
a young man to work, having acted as clerk in the store in the early days of the company.
Later, when the factory started, he was a surveyor, a bookkeeper and was also employed
in different parts of the mill, until eight years ago when he was obliged to give up work on
account of failing health.

four children were born to them. Mrs. Parker died Nov. 3, 1872. Mr. Parker was town
clerk in the early 70's and for 25 years was clerk of the Grove Hill cemetery association.

member in 1859, also of Franklin chapter, of which he had been a member since 1867, and
a member of St. Gerard commandery, Hiram council and Lafayette chapter, O.E.S. He
was tyler of the lodge for 22 years and was a constant attendant until prevented by failing
health.
