ObituaryMar 12, 2018  OBITUARY: GILFORD - Fred W. "Bumpy" Parkhurst, Jr., 86, of Lake Shore Road, died March 9, 2018 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Fred was born August 27, 1931, in Westford, MA, the son of the late Fred W. and Adelaide G. (Snow) Parkhurst, Sr. After graduating from Chelmsford High School, Fred served in the US Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1955. Fred worked for thirty five years as a manager at Raytheon, retiring in 1991 and relocating to the Lakes Region. Fred was a life member of the Laconia Elks #876, a member of the Laconia Senior Center and a member of the Laconia Friendship Club.
Fred is survived by his wife, Lorraine D. (Bourgeois) Parkhurst of Gilford, three daughters; Donna Niemaszyk and her husband Jim, Susan Macleod and her husband Mark and Sandra Bass and her husband Justin, one sister, Althea Alling, four grandchildren; Steven, Sarah, Chris and John, three great grandchildren, Matthew, Bradley and Kaelyn and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers; Bud Garrow and Dick Parkhurst and two sisters; Jane Wright and June Alexander.
Calling hours will be held from 10:30 AM to 12 Noon on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.
A memorial service will immediately follow the calling hours at 12 Noon, also at the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
